Jezersko sheep

Today Alta and I went to a farm to hear a lady talk about Jezersko sheep. These sheep are identified by their black panda eyes and lop ears. They were bred for their meat and fine wool. One interesting fact she told us was that they would spin in the winter by the fire to warm the fleece to soften the lanolin. They would sing and talk but keep their eyes on the fleece so they could keep the thickness of the yarn consistent. She even let me have a spin on her very old and rickety spinning wheel. I loved her little seat that had a hand carder attached. She is the only person in Jezersko that can spin now. We then were all asked to felt over a cake of soap. On our way out we saw a young girl picking the flowers off a tree to make their chai tea.
