This Castle was started in the 12th Century and bits and pieces added to over the next few centuries. Just amazing. It is built into the rock face. The rocks form the walls. There are lots of passages and caves where people could sneak in and out.
The jousting arena is in front below the base of the castle.
Makes the underground homes in Coober Pedy look puny!!
